Okay, so the last two days have been a bit slow on the EMHE front. The weather hasn't been too encouraging, and ultimately set work 24 hours behind schedule. Can you blame me for not wanting to stand out in it? We did go over on Monday night and huge plumes of dust were blowing out of the work site, so it didn't seem like the best idea to situate ourselves smack in the middle of it, and last night's outing was aborted in favor of dinner. But today...today is The Day. I'm chomping at the bit to blow out of work and get over there for the reveal, but I just got the best news.
I work with a woman whose husband volunteered at the site, and he's been under strict instruction to get inside info and snag autographs for me. I have just learned that he had Ty Pennington sign a shirt for me. Apparently people are already trying to buy it from him, but if he resists temptation and gets it across town without being clawed to pieces, I am so set.
Heart thumping....

It has been so fun! My friend and I have been there EVERY single night and we have met everyone on the cast. We even got to interview with Michael and Paige. We volunteered to, it's been so awesome! We took Ty out to the Time Out on Thursday night for a beer, GOOD TIMES!

too bad the weather has been so bad making it so hard for the volunteers and everyone that they had to postpone the reveal. those volunteers & crew must be so exhausted. hopefully the weather and everything is better today so they can have the reveal. let us know if you get to go again today. That is so awesome your friend's husband got to be a volunteer and got you a shirt with Ty's autograph! Did he make it out of there to give you the shirt without being mobbed? lol. did he tell you what its been like while he's been volunteering? what did he get to do? and was he volunteering all week?
in 2005 at the makeover i went to, i had a blue emhe tshirt and Ty and the whole cast there signed it too. luckily no one tried to get it from me tho. except Daniel one of the designers, he took my shirt to sign it and then everyone around me asked him to sign their peices of paper. so Daniel put my emhe shirt on his shoulder while he signed everyone's peices of paper first. then he almost forgot about my shirt still on his shoulder and started to walk away with it. so he almost stole my autographed emhe shirt haha. :) but then he came back and signed it and gave it back to me. in 2006 at the 2nd makeover i went to i brought my 2007 emhe calendar for the designers to sign. Michael, Eduardo, and Paige signed it and all 3 of them never saw the calendar before, so it was the first time they saw it. Michael and Eduardo even stopped to look through the whole calendar and really enjoyed looking at it. it was really cool, Michael was so funny. he came by again to look at the calendar a 2nd time. :) other fans wanted to see the calendar too which was cool and at least no one stole it either. lol.
yeah i don't blame you for not wanting to stay in the middle of the huge dust storm they were making. I stood all day watching the makeover last year and with all the trucks going by and moving around the dirt, etc they made alot of dust and i have bad allergies so my eyes were watering and burning like nonstop that day and then wouldn't you know i got sick and had to miss a couple days. luckily i got better for the most part to make it back a couple days later for the reveal. which was a miracle cause i never get better that fast after being pretty sick. but it was still SO worth it to see the makeover and spend the day there even if it was dusty. it was alot of fun and an exciting day with alot of action going on.
